DG Bruce Falkins and his wife Donna from Kelowna, BC, made their official visit to our club last Tuesday. Bruce was introduced by Assistant Governor Robb Tidd. Bruce talked about having pride in Rotary, and gave his story. He also talked about RI President Gary Huang's focus this year on growing our clubs, the importance of membership, and how to attract new members. DG Bruce recognized Jim Adamson and Bill McDowell as being membership champions in the club (as designaed by the Board). He has 4-Way Test coins and Canadian maple sugar lollipops to give tho them.
Bruce also encouraged everyone to come to the District Training Weekend in Osoyoos, BC, on Oct. 31-Nov. 1, and to the District Conference on June 18-21 in Kelowna, BC. Both are opportunities to meet Rotarians from around the district, to learn more about Rotary, enjoy a family outing, see a beautiful part of Canada, and make new friends. Our club has funds to help pay for registrations for these events.
